NUMBER PLATE FONTS OF EUROPE: UNITED KINGDOM

Lutz Headline  |  1997, Cornel Windlin, commercial.

Lutz Headline font specimen (full alphabet)

Font family contains: 4 weights (medium and bold, plus stencil versions of both weights), with a lowercase and auxiliary characters. Bold weight shown above.

About this typeface: Another number plate font replica published by Lineto, based on an anonymous typeface used for British registration plates going back to the year 1904. This typeface is done in the style of a 19th-century grotesque sans, in contrast to the Charles Wright 1935 typeface, a modern-style squarish sans that later superseded it for number plate use in the U.K.
